Meet Kay

Kay Magruder, QOM, earned her Certificate of Dental Hygiene from the University of Mississippi School of Health Related Professions in 1980. As a retired Registered Dental Hygienist of over 40 years, Kay is well-versed in the oral systemic connection. The mouth is the gateway to the body, therefore optimal oral health along with proper breathing and function can result in overall general health. After completing advanced training in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, Kay is now the owner of Montrose Myo, LLC. As a Qualified Orofacial Myologist, Kay is proficient in identifying and correcting muscular dysfunctions of the mouth and face, which are called Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMD). Such disorders are directly related to the vital functions of breathing, chewing, swallowing, and speaking. Kay also offers programs to eliminate negative oral habits, such as thumb sucking and nail biting. As a Certified Buteyko Breathing instructor Kay often incorporates breathwork into her therapies. Kay puts the fun in MyoFUNctional Therapy through relatively easy, relaxed, motivational, and confidence-building sessions. A successful outcome from OMT, however, is fully dependent upon the client's compliance, attendance, and forward progress throughout the entire program. Kay works caringly with people ages 4 and up, each on an individual basis, and collaboratively with healthcare professionals such as, but not limited to PCP's, ENT’s, Pediatricians, Speech Language Pathologists, Dentists, Orthodontists, and Chiropractors as necessary for the healthiest possible outcome for her clients.

Former Client

“My daughter has been seeing Kay for several months now for Myofunctional therapy. I'm so pleased with the results I'm seeing. Kay is very patient and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend her for you or your child. Brenda B. ”

Former Client

“I was diagnosed with severe Sleep Apnea a year ago. Being unable to tolerate a CPAP machine I opted to do Myofunctional Therapy provided by Kay Magruder. I just re-tested after a year of OMT and have improved to mild Sleep Apnea. If you have OSA, do OMT!”
